New Division — Now Open

The Video Studio

The laboratory’s first commercial practice: short animated video, produced with the lab’s own methods. In keeping with house policy, the entire method is published free of charge — and for those who discover what it actually takes, the studio’s doors are open.

In Development

The New Campus

The Threshold Labs Campus — rendering

Under the directors, the laboratory is raising a campus of consequence: a research complex built to the standard of institutions that measure themselves in centuries — endowment-grade, unhurried, and open to serious work only. Quiet money built it. Quieter work fills it.

Threshold Labs was founded by Hamish McLeod and Mia Foster, following their graduation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Today the laboratory is led by the founders’ triplet daughters: Mina, Aurora, and Luna.
The lab favors depth over breadth, continuity over churn, and thinking that unfolds over time.

Working Place

The lab is not a monument to achievement.
It is a working place.

The Sample Film

Thirty seconds, made with the same method the Video Studio teaches and sells. What is promised is what is shown.
